The Small Cabin Getaway Don't runaway. Getaway.
Do you find yourself wishing for a quiet little space where you can go to just relax and be refreshed for the coming week? Maybe you long for that getaway space but think it’s only for the million dollar budget. Possibly you just need that extra guest room, home office, or craft studio. The cabin can become any of these, right in your backyard! You don’t even need to have that property by the lake.
What is the Small Cabin Getaway?
A cozy small cabin. A quiet retreat. Tiny house living. The cabin can fit all of these descriptions and more. Livable space is what these structures are created and designed for.
The term “cabin” can be used pretty loosely, with hundreds of possibilities coming to mind when you hear it. The small cabins from Kauffman Structures implement several basic design features that can easily be built on when creating your very own rustic retreat. We want your experience of creating your private getaway to be as simple and enjoyable as possible.
If you are specifically looking for some extra living space, a backyard studio, or a rustic retreat, then the small cabin is made for you. If you primarily want storage with some extra windows, or a little corner porch to dress it up, you should consider one of our other outdoor storage shed or portable garage options.
What are the features of the Small Cabin Getaway?
We build the small cabin, keeping in mind the fact that you will be using it as living space, and will very likely want it to be heated and/or cooled. It comes standard with an insulated floor, so when the walls and ceiling are insulated it can easily be kept at that perfect temperature. The windows and entry door are also insulated.
The interior framing is finish ready as well, so you can easily go with one of our interior finish options, or do the interior design and finish yourself. Options include sleeping lofts, extra windows, electrical, and insulation in walls and ceiling. Finish options include sheathing panels, which are the most economical, while knotty pine tongue and groove siding gives you the premium cabin look and experience.
On the exterior you can go with the traditional painted siding with vertical grooves. As options, you can do a horizontal lap siding that is painted, vinyl siding, or for the extra rustic feel you can put a cedar lap siding on your cabin.
The Cabin Getaway has many different size options as well as 2 porch options, the end porch and the corner porch. The corner porch includes a standard 8’ sleeping loft as well. You can also choose the cabin with the 6’ porch across the end. This design allows for an optional sleeping loft over the porch.
How can I get my own Small Cabin Getaway?
1. PRIORITIZE
Identify what you’d like your shed to do for you.
- What do you want to store?
- How do you want to access it?
- What kind of “look” do you want?
Think carefully about your objectives before you purchase your building.
2. PURCHASE
Review your options and make your choice.
- To choose your shed, consider which size and style will best fit your needs, as well as how each style will fit into your location.
- When you’re ready to order, first choose your colors, then any add-on options.
- Send us a security deposit to place your order. You can choose either a cash sale, or a convenient rent to own contract.
3. PREPARE
Get ready to land a beautiful backyard.
- We recommend a gravel base to set the shed on. If this is not a good option for you, we are happy to offer you some more ideas and options.
- Look for any low hanging wires or tree branches that will be in the way of getting the shed to the desired location.
- We encourage you to do any necessary tree trimming prior to delivery of your structure.
